This guide explains how to configure the internal module of your FoxBox G25 (or G20) to manage the incoming MMS.
From the Web interface, click over the Control Panel and choose the menu MMS configuration. You will see a window like this:
These fields contain all the parameters you need to configure to start receiving Multimedia Messages. Their meanings are:
Insert the APN: the name of an access point for GPRS. Almost all providers are using a different APN, please do not write here the standard APN for GPRS internet navigation or probably your provider will charge you for the service.
Insert the URL to Servlets: the MMS receiving is completely TCP/IP based and the protocol used for the download is HTTP, please fill this field with the
URL to the servlet processing the message as specified by your air carrier (without http:/ part).
Insert the username or leave the filed empty for none: the Username for APN authentication. Generally it is not needed, please use this field just if your air carrier supports it.
Insert the password or leave the filed empty for none: the password for APN authentication. Generally it is not needed, please use this field just if your air carrier supports it.
Specify the proxy IP: the proxy server designed by your air carrier.
Specify the port used by the proxy: the proxy port to be used as specified by your air carrier.
Inside of this old page some year ago we proposed a list of the settings for the main air carriers in the World. If possible, refer to more recent informations because this table could be out of date.
In case there is no port number mentioned for a specific WAP gateway, please use port 9201 for MMS 1.x versions and port 8080 for MMS 2.x versions. FoxBox supports both technologies.
